hardball.

swampy, ditty and myself spent sunday afternoon at the ball park watching some longhorn baseball. it started of a bit on the bad side with Stanford scoring 5 runs in the 1st inning but Texas gave a good fight. not good enough to save a win but a fight worth fighting. Stanford took the win with a score 12-9.
check out what swampy said about our day out and what we snapped up along the way.

while sitting right behind homeplate, 7 rows up... i looked around and saw some 'old schoolers'. you know... the people from yesteryear, the old folks. i hate to use that term but there is really no other to describe it. i love them! i love watching elderly couples who still get out and enjoy life. and old men who have been friends for decades bust on each other. and the ladies who still giggle when they whisper gossip amongst themselves. i LOVE it! it's great how they come out to support something and get so fired up about! i only hope i am as blessed to live so many years and still have my vigor.

rant.

{rant and rave pendent. click to zoom in.}

i don't even know where to begin this morning...
i hate mondays. they are the bain of my existence. i pray for the day where i enjoy waking up and going to work on a monday morning, or every morning for that fact. if i had one life dream, i think that would most defiantly be it. yep, pretty sure that's it. but until i make that come to fruition, i am here at my current job which isn't THAT bad. due to the monsoon rains pouring down on me this morning when i exited my vehicle at the office, my hair was drenched. perk numero uno for working at a beauty supply company... hair dryers, straighteners, brushes and products galore! i think my hair looks better now than when i left the house. see... i just pulled out the silver lining on my rainy day cloud! awww...

moving on.
i really hate PC's. i told myself i would never be one to rant on about the pc vs mac debate because really, it's so effing annoying but g.d. if pc's don't make it so easy to hate them. all i really want are my widgets. okay, that's a lie. i want my faster processor, my larger memory space, my prettier display, and my fun and easy apps. i want to be able to work on my mac all day, everyday instead of this craptatic p.o.s.

next.
i miss my family. it always happens this way... i am going to visit next weekend for Easter but i want to go this weekend. i miss hanging out with my sisters. even though since sister no. 1 moved to the middle of nowhere and sister no. 2 is busy busy busy selling properties, we really don't spend that much time together when we do visit. and i miss my parents. sometimes, it's incredibility frustrating to have conversations with my father because it's the same trivial topics or he takes FOREVER to get his point across and i get irritated. but i enjoy it when all is said and done. and my mom. God love her. i wish i knew what made my mother happy. because then i would do it. every day.

and finally.
something has got to give. i have been struggling with making a change but yet have made no decisions to do so. i hate to say it but i am scared of failing. and know everyone is but i don't want to be scared. i want to be fierce. not tranny fierce. just fierce with a dash of hot mess. one day peeps... one day.

yippie!

i have never met someone with any public notoriety before today. i was super stoked and a bit giddy, like a school child, when standing around halcyon this afternoon listening to Heather Armstrong of dooce talk about this and that. i was completely impressed by how simply beautiful she was and her extreme sense of modesty. she was totally unassuming. i adore those characteristic in people. it's completely inspiring!

all the things i buy...

so you caught me... i didn't really buy these. they were a birthday gift. and i would acknowledge the gift giver but she will not speak to me for reasons unknown. therefore, i wouldn't want to disclose any personal information without permission first. moving on...

these fun collectors glasses are designed by CatStudio. and not only do they have glasses for every state expect utah but they also make hand embroidered pillows, dishtowels, napkins and even aprons. they make great gifts... i should know! i'm trying to collect a glass for each state that i have visited. i only have the two shown above so i need to get crackin!

social.

this week i've been pretty shut out to socializing with my peeps and i'm not really sure why but... i am so ready to get this weekend started. the weekend calender if full and i'm ready to check, check, check things right off my list! hopefully i can squeeze in some rest and relaxation in between all the fun. hooray for the weekend! HOORAY!

high fivin' fridays.

i wanted to do this thing every friday where i give high fives to the things that have made my week well...awesome. and i have a pretty little layout in mind to showcase it all but i'm at work, where i blog the most {shhh, don't tell anyone} and i have zero image-editing applications. therefore, i'm shit out of luck but until then i will do it plain ol blogger style i suppose. ----- searching for images --- searching--- still searching----- okay. so, no. ... i tried to find images but they need too much work and MS Paint ain't gonna cut it. maybe i'll work on it this weekend and get my shit together for next friday.

all the things i buy...

sometimes i get in these really crafty moods and make all kinds of fun stuff. and other times, i wanna be crafty but rely on martha to help a girl out. the Martha Stewart Tissue Paper Pom Poms are a prefect little project that does just that. i think these guys are sold out online but i found them at Michael's, where there is an entire aisle dedicated to MS products! this is such a simple project that there is no need to really purchase the kit, it's just precut and creased tissue paper with wire and instructions. but i picked up on a whim and it turned out to be such a cute addition to the corner of my bedroom where i have them cascading down from the ceiling. super cute!

when i was somewhere around 10 years old, sister no.2 and i shared a bedroom and from time to time the mess would get just completely out of control. as all mothers do, ours repeatedly tried to find ways to help us clean up our room without really helping us at all. so sister no.2 and i came up with a method of throwing EVERYTHING that was on the floor into a large pile and then make sub piles to breakdown the chaos. we would then attack the small piles one at a time until everything was put away properly.

i know... it was a lovely story... and i tell it, so well. but i DO have a point.

this past week i have felt like i have {insert witty idiom that refers to some sort of stressful mind mayhem and it's annoying, aggravating tendency to drive me bat shit crazy}. the same 50 thoughts are cycling in my brain. it's either about work, dreams, friends, family; the norm, i suppose but it's irritating this week because i can't seem to get my thoughts organized. i wish i could climb into my mind, throw all these thoughts, emotions, and ideas into a pile. make them tangible. look at them. hold them in my hands. put them into neat little piles so that i can put them away according. if only life was as simple as when i was 10 years old.

p.s. i am aware the picture is of an owl and i referenced bats. deal with it.

all the things i want...

by Joe Mansfield

WANT! WANT! WANT!so i totally just snatched this post from Design*Sponge but i just had to share this! there is this guy, joe mansfield, who will engrave your tech pieces with stock or custom graphics. AWESOME! he has a flickr page that shows more examples, check it out. oh! he also engraves moleskins, which would be an amazing gift for the artist who sketches or the dreamer who collects thoughts and such within the leathers bindings of the classic notebook.

say what?

who: cody

said what: i hate falling back.

in regards to: daylight savings ending.

... this was way funnier in the car. sorry.

Take me... to the volcano!

when i talk about work to swampy, she imagines that my office resembles the likes of Joe Banks office from the classic film Joe Versus The Volcano. I assure you... it's not that bad. but if you notice, there are only windows in the reception area. bastards try and trick you.

{left to right: entry way. reception area. hallway. kitchen. gym.}

my lovely work space. i am waiting for the day when i can add my own organizational crap to the mix. maybe it will inspire me to focus.

appreciated.

when i walked into my office this morning and turned on the light... i found the best surprise EVER. a very LARGE chai vanilla latte. i almost cried due to my physical tiredness, mental angst of my job and sweetness of this gesture. a new co-worker showed her appreciation for my kindness in showing her the ropes and giving her the lowdown of the office gossip by buying me a coffee. so sweet.

i never NEVER drink that much coffee, if that's what you call it, but i've almost downed the entire cup. "hello walls! i will be bouncing off of you all day. thanks in advance. i'm glad we had this talk."

p.s.- seriously, how cute is this coffee cup sleeve?!

all the things i buy...

was that angels i heard singing when i walked into the MAC store and was introduced to this amazing product? why yes... yes, i did hear angles! this MAC concealer: studio finish with SPF35 is the stuff dreams are made of! you put it on AFTER you apply your foundation and blend it in with your fingertip... it's that's easy! and it covers flawlessly. love it, love it, love it!
